With reference to law no. 120/2022 on taxis, Samgöngustofa conducts a course for replacement taxi drivers/drivers at the Driving School in Mjódd. See more here: Taxi operation | Ísland.is (island.is) Has adequate work skills, including adequate driving license and required courses Has not been sentenced to prison or committed a serious or repeated violation of the laws and regulations that apply to the profession. If the offense was minor or a long time has passed since the offense was committed, the applicant can still obtain a license according to the law. Students must have completed B/far – Taxi license or D, D1 together with the substitute taxi driver course (Harkari) to be able to attend the course.
